Innovation Talk: Creativity & Innovation in Project Management

Innovation Talk: Creativity & Innovation in Project Management. This session will explore the role of creativity and innovation in Project Management. PMIGLC Dinner Meeting – Southfied, MI – June 11, 2012 – Presenter: Mr. Paul Warner, Open Systems Technologies.

Creativity and innovation are rare in the field of Project Management. For example, if you look at IT within an organization you are likely to find the most structured, logical and ‘left brained’ people. If you look deeper to Project Management within IT, you will frequently find the most organized, disciplined and structured resources within IT. I call it the left of the left brained population!

About Our Speaker: Paul Warner is a project manager with Open Systems Technologies (www.ostusa.com). As a Consultant with the OST PMO, responsible for planning, organizing, executing and leading IT projects from concept through closure.

Paul is a certified Project Management Professional. He has 18 years of IT industry experience, including 13+ years as a project manager. Paul has worked on both ‘sides of the fence’ as a consultant providing services as well as from the corporate side engaging outside vendors and working with internal teams. He has experience with many industries including: warehousing, food service distribution, banking, gas and oil, quick service restaurant, and manufacturing.

The Great Lakes Chapter of the Project Management Institute is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enrich the knowledge, skills, careers, and maturity of its members in leading projects for stakeholders’ competitive advantage.

Organization’s Vision: PMIGLC will be known locally and globally as a principal source for the development and advancement of the project management profession, leaving its footprint on organizations through the success of its members
